BREWS’ CALENDAR: Get ready for St. Patty’s Day … time to practice

Jan. 11 and 12: St. Patrick’s Day Boot Camp, Sly Fox Brewing, Phoenixville and Pottstown
St. Patrick’s Day is coming, so Sly Fox will help you train up for it — and give you the chance to win a trip to Ireland. Starting Wednesday, Jan. 11 at the Phoenixville Brewhouse and Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Pottstown Tastin’ Room, get your Boot Camp ID card and you’ll receive 2 raffle tickets. You’ll get more raffle tickets each time you attend a session, and if you attend 8 out of 10 weeks, you’ll receive 10 raffle tickets. On St. Patrick’s Day, the winner of the raffle will be drawn.

Jan. 13 and 14: Big Philly Beer Fest, Philadelphia Convention Center, Philadelphia
In its third year, the Big Philly Beer Fest is back for 2 nights of beer and fun. Over 110 breweries attended last year, serving over 200 unique brews. Tickets are available online for both days – Regular Session (8 – 11:30 p.m.; $45 advance, $55 day of), or Early Admission (7 – 11:30 p.m.; $55 advance; $65 day of).

Jan. 13: Victory Beer Dinner at Caffe Gelato, Newark, Del.
Victory Brewing and Caffe Gelato are pairing their beer and food for a Bacon Beer Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Victory will also be giving out free pint glasses. No tickets needed; pay as you go.

Jan. 14: “Make it Funky Multi-Tap,” Iron Hill Brewery, Lancaster
Take the drive to Iron Hill Lancaster for their sour beer release party. Beginning at noon, taps will be pouring 6 sour beers: “Sucker Punch,” “F.Red™,” “Oud Bruin,” “Lambic de Hill,” “Biere de Mars,” and “Funkaster.” King of the Hill Club members will have exclusive early access beginning at 11 a.m. and a 4-year-old special reserve beer.

March 4: Philly Craft Beer Festival, Philadelphia Naval Yard
Tickets for the 11th annual Philly Craft Beer Festival are on sale now. Over 75 breweries attended last year. There are two sessions: VIP Session from 12:30-5 p.m. ($75) and a General Session from 1:30-5 p.m. ($46). Purchase them online now.

May 13: Phoenixville Beer & Wine Festival, Kimberton Fairgrounds, Phoenixville
Breweries continue to commit to participating to the Phoenixville Beer & Wine Festival, including Troegs, Weyerbacher, and coming soon brewery Root Down Brewing. Tickets can be purchased online — VIP ($65+fee), General Admission ($40+fee).
