Holiday lights, and plenty of smiles, are shining at Sesame Place. The annual “A Very Furry Christmas” event is in full swing and kids’ favorite characters are decked out to celebrate and welcome visitors.
Hop on the new Sesame Place Furry Express for a cheerful ride — you can sing along if you want.
Here’s some of what’s on tap:
Kids will enjoy Sesame Place favorite characters as they stroll through the park. They can also have their photo taken with Lightning, the reindeer from the movie “Elmo Saves Christmas”; visit Santa’s Furry Workshop (On our recent visit, we waited for about an hour to enter, but the visit was fun. We got to meet a couple of Santa’s helpers); enjoy Storytime at Mr. Hooper’s Emporium; lots of holiday lights; and tour the Twiddlebugs’ Gingerbread Cookie Factory.
Make time for a show. There are various to choose from: “Elmo the Musical — Christmas,” “A Sesame Street Christmas Show,” “Elmo’s Christmas Wish Show,” a musical tree show that lights up the park, and don’t miss the Neighborhood Street Party Christmas Parade. Just a word of advice, it can get crowded.
Some upcoming events you might want to check out include: The Count’s Countdown to New Year’s Celebration on Dec. 31, and New Year’s Eve Fireworks, among others.
The park is at 100 Sesame Road, Langhorne. To purchase tickets and for details on prices and seasonal offers, check sesameplace.com, where you can also sign up to receive updates by email.
Remember to wear your best walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather; there is plenty of food for sale at the park, but pack some snacks for picky eaters or to fuel up in between rides and events.
