BEER CALENDAR: Celebrate local brews with sour beers, Cornhole Tournament and more

Sept.10 – 11: Aquatopia After Dark Party at Camelback Resort, Tannersville
Although the inaugural “BrewPa 2016” at Camelback Resort has been cancelled, the Aquatopia After Dark Party will still be held. Beginning at 9 p.m., enjoy the Aquatopia swim park with a swim-up bar, waterslides, wave pool, hot tub, surfing experience and more. Tickets ($25) are available online.

Sept.10: Sour Saturday at Iron Abbey, Horsham
Beginning at noon, Iron Abbey will be have more than 12 sour beers on tap from breweries such as Russian River, Destihl, and Mikeller. At 6:30 p.m., New Belgium Brewing’s “Sour Maestro” Eric Salazar will be on hand to walk you through a 4 course beer dinner pairing, which includes 4 of New Belgium’s highly regarded sour beers — La Folie, Tart Lychee, Transatlantique Kriek, and Blackberry Barleywine. Sept. 10: Stable 12 Cornhole Tournament, Phoenixville
Stable 12 will host its first regulation corn hole tournament, consisting of teams of 2 people competing in a bracket tournament fashion. The deadline for registering as a team has passed, but watching the competition as a spectator while enjoying Stable 12’s brews in their new beer garden may be just as fun! The tournament begins at noon and ends when only one team is victorious.

Sept: 10: South Philly Sausage Fest, Philadelphia
From noon to 8 p.m., the 2nd Annual South Philly Sausage Fest will once again take to the streets of South Philly. An autumn craft beer, sausage-themed, and live music festival that celebrates the Newbold/West Passyunk neighborhood of Philadelphia; admission is free, but you will need to buy beer tickets (1 ticket = 1 16 oz. beer) if you want to enjoy beer from 8 local breweries, including Sly Fox Brewing, Saint Benjamin Brewing, and Weyerbacher Brewing. Sept. 13: Dine & Donate for UDEF at Brick & Barrel Taphouse, Maple Glen
Brick & Barrel Taphouse in Maple Glen, with the Upper Dublin Education Foundation, invites you to celebrate back to school. Come in for their well-crafted beer list or cocktails paired with a wood oven baked flatbread or burgers, and Brick & Barrel will donate 15 percent of the proceeds to the Upper Dublin Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities for students in the Upper Dublin School District.

Sept.13: Kickoff to Fall Beer Dinner, Iron Hill Phoenixville
Iron Hill Brewery in Phoenixville welcomes Fall with a six-course beer and food pairing dinner, highlighting the flavors of the Fall. Their website lists the courses and beer pairings, including their newly released Pumpkin Ale paired with Butternut Squash soup.
