The Elmwood Park Zoo hosted a “Pokémon Go” event on Tuesday, July 19, but due to the hours of the event — noon to 4:30 p.m. — many Pokémon trainers weren’t able to attend. But the zoo heard loud and clear that there was a need for a weekend event, so they will be hosting a second round on Sunday, July 24.
From noon to 4:30 p.m., Pokémon trainers that show the “Pokémon Go” app at the admissions window will receive half off admission to the zoo. There are eight PokéStops located on zoo grounds, and the zoo will drop a lure on each one during the event to attract even more Pokémon to the area. Throughout the event, Pokémon trainers can log their highest CP-rated Pokémon caught at the zoo with staff for a chance to win prizes, including a 4-pack of giraffe feeding tickets.
