Harleysville Books at Salford Square, 680 Main St., Lower Salford, hosts author Kim Wright on May 31. The writer of “Love in Mid-Air” and “The Unexpected Waltz” has a just-released new book called “The Canterbury Sisters” from the Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books.
“The Canterbury Sisters” does channel the literary legend, Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales,” in its plot line. A woman embarks on a pilgrimage to the shrine of Becket in Caterbury Cathedral when her life at home starts falling apart. She ends up on a trip with eight other women, who swap stories and get to know one another.
The Harleysville Books book club event is being described as a Walking Book Discussion, and starts at 11 a.m. Wright will talk about the book while strolling the walking trails behind the store. Then a gourmet boxed lunch from Java Good Day Cafe is served at the book store. If you can only attend the lunch, that is an option.
Cost is $30, includes a copy of the book, and you’ll need to make reservations by going to www.harleysvillebooks.com/event/walking-book-discussion-and-lunch-kim-wright.
