Ride the Perkasie carousel this weekend

Perkasie Carousel: The carousel operated by the Perkasie Historical Society in Menlo Park, Third Street and Park Avenue, opens for the season noon to 5 p.m. May 10.
Historic Germantown: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9, it’s the Second Saturdays season opener on Market Square, 5501 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia. Highlights include bus tours, food, music, children’s activities, reenactors and more. Go to www.freedomsbackyard.com.
Italian Market Festival: The annual South Ninth Street Italian Market Festival is on for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 16-17. Highlights include live entertainment, family events, crafts and food. The market visitor center is at 919 S. Ninth St., Philadelphia. See www.italianmarketfestival.com.
Towamencin Day: Towamencin Township Community Day happens noon to 4 p.m. May 16 in Fischer’s Park, 2225 Bustard Road. Come out and see the newly renovated Fischer’s Park, live music, a food court, inflatable’s by A+ Jump, police/fire department activities, face painting, balloon animals, a petting zoo, pony rides, games and more. Pets are welcome.
Country Fair and Auction: Penn View Christian School holds its 54th annual country fair May 15-16 on their campus, 420 Godshall Road, Franconia. Highlights include a chicken barbecue, the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels Show, pony rides, face painting, games, prizes, inflatables, a Kids’ Auction and live auction, and a Saturday morning breakfast. Stenton: The Stenton Garden Party starts at 7 p.m. May 14, featuring a cocktail buffet, music, a book signing with Anna Marley, who curated “The Artist’s Garden: American Impressionism and the Garden Movement” at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and a raffle to benefit the Stenton Collections Fund.
