April 24-26 marks the 11th annual West Chester International Short Film Festival featuring short films of all genre from throughout the world. All films are under 30 minutes in length and are grouped into 2-hour blocks of film. Many of the films are making their U.S. or world premieres at the festival.
The weekend opens with food and beverage at the Opening Night Party at Iron Hill Brewery on Friday evening, and continues with film blocks screened from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.
This year’s film venues will be the Chester County Historical Society and the Farmers and Mechanics Building, as well as Boxcar Brewpub for special screenings of the Family Film Block and Youth Filmmaker Block. This packed weekend of art also includes two free filmmaking workshops on Saturday afternoon at Walnut Street Labs.
The Festival closes out with more food, drink and festivities at the Closing Night Awards Party at the Farmers and Mechanics Building when the Best Films of the Festival are announced and screened one last time. Awards are given for Best Drama, Documentary, Animation, Student, Comedy, Art / Experimental, PA Filmmaker, Female Filmmaker and last but not least, the H. Paul Fitzpatrick People’s Choice Award which is voted upon by the audience throughout the weekend.
