The Willowdale Steeplechase season starts on a high note at the Willowdale Steeplechase’s Fifth Annual Mardi Gras Party on Saturday, Feb. 28  at 6:30 p.m.
Supporters of the races and others who enjoy great fun and good food (catering by Jimmy Duffy) will come out in force for an evening of dancing and merry-making. Guests will enjoy a taste of the bayou at the raw bar by Kennett Square’s own George and Sons (Shops at Liberty Place). Philadelphia Distilling provides an exciting new twist this year by providing spirits and specialty cocktails. James Day and the Fish Fry will return to play more great “Jump Blues and New Orleans Groove” music and once again have everyone on the dance floor.
The beautiful Yellow House at Willowdale will be transformed into “Bourbon Street” for the festivities. High value items such as a box at the Devon Horse Show and a week at a villa at Les Chaudieres in St. Lucia will be up for grabs in the popular silent auction. Skiers and lovers of the high life will again bid for another auction item — a week’s stay at a three-bedroom condo at the base of Aspen Mountain. But you don’t have to be a big spender to win at Willowdale; there will be many other great items up for auction in a variety of price ranges.
The Mardi Gras Party is sponsored again this year in part by Wilmington Trust, an M&T company.
Grab your beads and gather your Krewe and plan to attend the Willowdale Steeplechase Mardi Gras party on Feb. 28. Tickets are $95 per person or $170 per couple.
