New Years’s Eve celebrations — There’s no shame in staying home and partying in front of your TV set, as long as you’ve got someone to vacuum up the confetti. As usual, the networks will ring in the new year with several festive specials, including the venerable mainstay, “Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest” (8 p.m. Wednesday, ABC), which features Taylor Swift as the headlining act. The lineup also includes “Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution” (8 p.m., Fox), “New Year’s Eve Live With Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin” (9 p.m., CNN) and “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” (10 p.m., NBC).
Check “A Toast to 2014!” (8 p.m., NBC) — This two-hour special promises to look back at the year’s buzziest stories, scandals, videos, trends and more. Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb serve as hosts.
