Great jazz is often described as “hot.” “cool” or “cookin’”! So St. John’s Lutheran Church’s Peanut Butter ‘n JAZZ Ensemble has put all those words together not just with amazing music, but with a full plate of food.
On Sunday, July 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the church’s back yard at 24 N. Ridge Ave., Ambler, will overflow into Race Street (between Ridge and Spring Garden Street) for it’s annual Jazz Barbeque/Block Party. Headliner Jim Holton on keyboard will be joined by Cindy LeBlanc on flute, Hideo Morris on vibes, Justin Sekelewski on bass and Adam Pfannenstiel on drums. The evening’s very special guest is People’s Choice Award-winning songstress Jeannie Brooks. But this is a jam session, so you never know who else may be sitting in.
The other highlight of the evening, of course, is the food. Master Chef Lou Farrell will once again oversee the barbeque and potluck supper.
Admission as always is free, and a free-will offering will be accepted. Attendees are also invited to bring a dish to share, plus a blanket or a chair. (In case of rain, we’ll all duck inside for food and music.) For more check here.
