Doylestown’s own Taryn Hipp is scheduled to read from and sign copies of her self-published book “Heavy Hangs The Head” which is about falling in love & getting hurt, falling apart & getting back up at The Doylestown Bookshop Saturday, June 28, 6 p.m.
“Heavy Hangs the Head” is a memoir novella about a woman with an addiction, a mental illness & a feminist identity. This is the story of one woman’s journey from anxiety-ridden child to delinquent teenager to divorced alcoholic & how she turned all those years of experience into a beautiful existence. “Heavy Hangs the Head” is the story of the first 34 years of her life which included losing a parent, losing herself, losing everything & fighting back with the help of a community she didn’t realize she had. It’s about falling in love and getting hurt, falling apart & getting back up.
Taryn Hipp is an old tattooed college lady who has been making zines for more than half her life. Currently she writes the perzine, Ladyteeth, a collection of stories about her experiences being depressed, getting divorced, getting sober, & falling the in love. Every day is a beautiful gift & a terrifying adventure that continues to make her stronger. “Heavy Hangs the Head” is Hipp’s first book.
