Balloon Festival takes to the skies in Unionville

The 8th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival gets underway June 13 and 14 at Plantation Field in Unionville. The event features balloon rides, live music and The Victory Brewing Glow party.
In addition to balloon rides, live music, and vendors selling everything from culinary treats to balloon memorabilia, kids can have fun with carnival games, Far Flung Bungy and a moon bounce.
Gates open for all at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13. The Victory Brewing Co. VIP Party which starts at 7 p.m. The party provides a unique perspective of the Friday Night Glow when the propane tanks are fired up and illuminate the balloons. The VIP Party also offers field access to the balloons and pilots. Guests are treated to the sounds of Late April and a catered buffet, and are encouraged to don their funkiest tropical shirt for the “Trop Shirt Contest” sponsored by MaryJo Long of Decorating Den. Advanced tickets are required for the VIP Party and can be purchased at www.ccballoonfest.com.

On Saturday, the Caribbean theme continues when the gates open at 3 p.m. with music provided by Price Stevenson Acoustical Research as a warm up for the reggae groove of Riddem Nation. The highlights of Saturday evening will be the mass ascension of the balloons scheduled for approximately 6 p.m., followed by a special balloon shapes show featuring Peg Leg Pete and the debut of a brand-new balloon not yet seen by the public. Saturday evening winds down with a night glow.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13 and at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.
Admission is $10 per car paid at the gate. Some activities will require an additional fee. There will be an ATM on site.
To get to Plantation Field, use the address 1600 West Doe Run Road, Coatesville, PA 19320
This is not the actual address, but it will get you to the immediate vicinity where you can then follow signs to the entrance
One-hour balloon rides are available Friday and Saturday evening and Saturday and Sunday in the early morning. Evening rides cost $225 per person and the rides at dawn cost $200 per person. For reservations, contact Air Ventures Hot Air Ballooning  at (610) 827-7208.

The most crowds usually are there for the balloon mass ascensions and the glows so come when the gates open. The gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13. On Saturday, June 14, the gates open at 3 p.m. Avoid sitting in traffic and come early.
Friday, June 13
5 p.m. Festival Gates Open- $10 per car admission fee
6 p.m. Balloon Launch (only balloons with passengers will launch at this time)
7 p.m. Victory Brewing Glow Party ( Music provided by Late April)
9 p.m. Balloon Glow Finale

5 p.m. Caribbean sounds of Riddem Nation in Concert on the Main Stage

9 p.m. Spectacular Balloon Glow Finale

All balloon event times are approximate and determined by weather and wind conditions.
