The Philadelphia Museum of Art will offer free admission to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 18 as part of the Association of Art Museum Directors’ (AAMD) Art Museum Day, which coincides with International Museum Day.
Philadelphia Museum of Art: 26th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway; Perelman Building, 2525 Pennsylvania Ave.; Rodin Museum, 2151 Benjamin Franklin Parkway; Mount Pleasant Plantation, 3800 Mt. Pleasant Drive; and Cedar Grove, 4001 Cedar Grove Drive, Philadelphia.
Among the special exhibitions on view will be Treasures from Korea: Art and Culture of the Joseon Dynasty, 1392-1910 (through May 26), as well as Patrick Kelly: Runway of Love and Gerlan Jeans ♥ Patrick Kelly (through November 30).
In the Main Building, visitors can take guided tours or participate in programs. A Spring Festival at Mount Pleasant Plantation offers demonstrations of the wool production process, from shearing sheep to spinning and dyeing yarn, as well as other fiber arts activities (10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.).
