“Burt and Me” tells the story of Joe & Lacey, two high school sweethearts who drift apart when they both attended separate colleges.  When their paths cross years late, Joe devises a clever plan to win her back…with an assist from one Burt Bacharach.  The high school in “Burt and Me” is modeled after McKenna’s alma mater, Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield (Delco), back in the late ’60s.  However, in the show the high school’s name has been changed to St. Peter’s…which is forced to merge with St. Paul’s and then later with St. Mary’s Academy for Girls, making the students fear that their school song might be changed to “Puff the Magic Dragon.”
