Enjoy the long-awaited arrival of spring at the PHS Meadowbrook Farm Spring Fling, Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shop the season’s top trends, from professional gardening tools to superior plants.  Tour the house and gardens free of charge.

Featuring a gift shop, greenhouses, and outdoor sales area, Meadowbrook Farm offers a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants, as well as charming, hand-selected housewares and locally sourced products. Those who seek something out of the ordinary will appreciate Meadowbrook’s extensive collection of exotic and rare specimens. Remember, PHS members receive a 10% discount on their plant purchases.

Stop by the nursery to pick up gorgeous plant introductions featured on the 2014 PHS Hot List, including the Viola Hip Hop, the new Begonia “Unstoppable Fire,” and Digiplexis, a gorgeous new foxglove hybrid.

Spring Fling is family-friendly, with free outdoor crafts for children hosted by the Abington Arts Center and an obstacle course in the garden designed by the Abington YMCA.  A “Find

These Trees” scavenger hunt will take place in the gardens for children.

Raw foods chef Natalie Palmer, of “Elegantly Raw,” in conjunction with Whole Foods Jenkintown, will present raw cuisine demonstrations at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. using fresh vegetables and herbs homegrown at Meadowbrook Farm. Chef Natalie specializes in gourmet and therapeutic raw cuisine.
