We found out the dates for a variety of opportunities  to discover a new favorite libation.

Beginning at 1 p.m. May 17, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, 30 E. State St., Media, will host their 14th annual Brandywine Valley Craft Brewers Festival, showcasing offerings from 17 regional breweries, as well as other Iron Hill locations, with proceeds donated to the Media Youth Center.  The event will be held rain or shine, with live music all day.  Food will be available from Iron Hill on a pay-as-you-go basis. The Manayunk Craft Beer and Irish Whiskey Festival happens 1 to 5 p.m. May 17 at Kildare’s Irish Pub, 4417 Main St., Manayunk. Enjoy unlimited samples of more than 40 craft beers and more than 10 Irish whiskeys, along with music and food, for $30, $15 for designated drivers. VIP tickets are $40. This event has been known to sell out, so call (215) 482-7242 or visit www.kildaresbeerfest.com to check availability.

The sixth annual International Great Beer Expo will showcase nearly 100 breweries from across America, and across the globe , May 31 on the Parade Grounds at the Philadelphia Navy Yard,  4747 S. Broad St., Philadelphia. VIP sessions will be 12:30 to 5 p.m. and general admission sessions are 1:30 to 5. Educational seminars will be led by industry pros and pioneers on such topics as pairing beer with popcorn, or chocolate Tickets are $75 for VIP, $46 general admission and $10 for designated drivers. The event will raise funds for the Committee to Benefit the Children , a local Philadelphia charity.  Buy tickets and get info at www.GreatBeerExpo.com/philly.

The Lansdale Beer Tasting Festival is set for noon to 5 p.m. June 28. Tickets are $40, $10 for designated drivers and $75 for VIP tickets. For $125 get VIP tickets with the Brewmaster Series, including special presentations, special and rare beers and food pairings, from 7 to 9 p.m. June 27.
